What keeps you busy professionally?
"The Sparkle Bar is so much more than fairy hair. We light people up, spark joy, and bring smiles to everyone who sits in our lime green chairs. What I’m most proud of is the hard (heart) work I’ve poured into building my brand, team, and community here in Charleston over the past two years. It hasn’t been easy; I’ve faced personal and professional challenges along the way, but they’ve shaped me into a stronger and more confident version of myself."

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
"I can’t imagine where I would be today if I had not taken a risk on myself, my business, my health, and my own happiness. At the end of my career in teaching, I was not feeling my best. I was burnt out; I had been suffering from an auto-immune disease and working way too many hours on top of extra jobs to make ends meet. Risk taking is what ultimately led to the creation of The Sparkle Bar and I couldn’t be more happy with where we are today. I am so grateful for my small (happy) business."
